RVs, Classic Cars, ATVs, and more

At Family Insurance, we help insure in more than just recreational vehicles (RVs), we also help cover classic cars, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), and more. We understand that some vehicles are built for the ride, not just getting you to a destination, and we have the right policies to help cover them.

What is Unique About RV Insurance?

For RVs, insurance is like two policies in one: it covers your vehicle like an auto insurance while protecting your living space in the same way a homeowner's insurance covers your house.

When going on the road, you face the same risks of roadside emergencies and collisions as you would when riding a passenger car. However, with an RV, you face the added risk of theft, fire, liability, and other disasters.

Classic cars are inherently less safe than modern automobiles, and thus require a different a different type of policy. With ATVs, you run the risk of injury and property damage. In summary, there are many coverage options to consider that deviate from a standard car insurance.

What type of RV insurance do I need?

There are several types of recreational vehicles with different requirements:

  • Class A RVs that resemble large commercial buses
  • Class B RVs that resemble vans with taller ceiling
  • Class C RVs that are larger vehicles based on a truck or van

Standard Motorhome Insurance

The type of insurance policy coverage that you need depends on the type of recreational vehicle that you own. For instance, motorized vehicles require the same type of insurance as your car.

If you only use your vehicle a few times a year, you might be able to settle for cheaper, seasonal coverage. Read more about what to consider when shopping for affordable RV insurance in Florida.

Options for Florida RV Insurance

When insuring a recreational vehicle, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Camper liability is required as you can be held responsible for any accidents that occur inside your mobile home, as well as the lot or camp that it is placed on.
  • Extra bodily and property damage liability is not uncommon, particularly with expensive vehicles
  • Emergency expense money
  • Total loss coverage
  • RV contents coverage
  • Insurance for any ATVs that you may be towing
